A Black trans woman with disabilities, Taiwana Shambley is an abolitionist fiction writer and teaching artist from St. Paul’s North End neighborhood and based in Minneapolis. She writes, teaches and performs stories to empower marginalized youth in the Twin Cities. Douglas Kearney is an award-winning poet, performer, and librettist who teaches Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota.

An all-ages, music festival on the East Side of St. Paul this July 13, 2024. Hosted at established, all ages venue, Caydence Records & Coffee. This year, Polyrhythmic Art’s annual summit, Demo Days, is joining the festival to bring on state interviews with the artists on how they manage burn out, writer’s block, and perfectionism within their art.
